Advancing Competitiveness for Southern Ontario's manufacturers in Collaboration With FedDev Ontario

On July 17, 2026 in Toronto, theGovernment of Canada announced support for REMAP's SmartScale initiativethrough the Federal Economic Development Agencyfor Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) as part ofthe Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI). We are honoured to be partof this important investment in southern Ontario's manufacturingsector. 

This investment will help companiesacross the region’s automotive, steel, and related manufacturingsectors improve productivity, modernize operations, and strengthen supply chainresilience in response to today's trade pressures, while building thecapabilities they need to compete in the future.

Leveraging REMAP's expertise intransforming manufacturing operations, SmartScale is designed to help diversesmall- and medium-sized manufacturers (SMEs) across southern Ontarioachieve measurable productivity gains by implementing and scaling operationalimprovements. By combining strategic partnerships, applied engineeringexpertise, digital technologies, continuous improvement practices, and sharedinvestment, the program will help manufacturers deploy smarter, cleaner, andmore efficient solutions that strengthen competitiveness and support long-termgrowth.
